Welcome to Sunday Puzzle, a weekly series for people who enjoy mental exercise spiced with politics, humor, odd bits of trivia, and the occasional furry animal.

Julie Waters started the Sunday Puzzle series in October 2007, and a special kind of acrostic puzzle (named JulieCrostics in her honor) quickly became the Sunday Puzzle feature item. Some of those early puzzles are real gems!

And guess what? Tonight you get to test your wits against one of those early puzzles.

This diary was supposed to post while I was away for blueberry season, but the gremlins removed it from the queue in order to post one of their puzzles. ⁽ᵀʰᵉʸ ᶜᶫᵃᶦᵐ ᴵ ᵍᵃᵛᵉ ᵗʰᵉᵐ ᵖᵉʳᵐᶦˢˢᶦᵒᶰ ᵗᵒ ᵈᵒ ᵗʰᶦˢ ⁵ ᵐᵒᶰᵗʰˢ ᶠʳᵒᵐ ᶰᵒʷ⋅⁾ Well, I'm back from blueberries -- but I need to be away again this weekend. Since I won't be here to take part in tonight's puzzle party, I've re-queued this puzzle.

This was a comparatively easy puzzle; it took us only 15 hours to finish it. Can the present-day solving team do as well? I bet you can!

If you're ready to journey back in time and match wits with Julie, come on down below the orange squiggle...

PS: here's an important note.

Don't forget that next week is potluck puzzle party, when pucklady will be providing us with one of her ingeniously evil JulieTwins and I get to sit on the solving side of the table. If you've got a puzzle you'd like to share for the potluck, KosMail it to pucklady before Sunday (or post it in a comment in next week's diary and pucklady will paste it into the diary).
